Robert Austrian Research Awards
The Robert Austrian Research Awards in Pneumococcal Vaccinology were established in honour of the late Robert Austrian, whose pioneering research resulted in essential advancements and contributions in the areas of pneumococci and pneumococcal disease prevention and vaccinology.
The goal of the awards is to prevent pneumococcal disease through research by discovering, developing, and evaluating new and improved vaccines, delivery systems and vaccination strategies for affordable and effective protection against pneumococci.
